Ok, it's 30 minutes to the live red carpet feed so before it all starts, I just wanted to quickly post about who I want to win/who I actually think will win. Let's see how I fare.

The Winter's Bone
True Grit

I want either the King's Speech or The Social Network to win, but I think The Social Network will win. We all know the Oscars likes to give this one to a current, relevant film. I don't think a period piece will cut it. But who knows?

Javier Bardem - Biutiful
Jeff Bridges - True Grit (no way, he won like, last year or something. Very recently anyway so he's got no chance)
Jesse Eisenberg - The Social Network (love him, but he's got no chance)
Colin Firth - The King's Speech
James Franco - 127 Hours

COLIN. COLIN. COLIN. Colin will win and I can't wait. He will be charming, effervescent and funny and clad in custom-made Tom Ford. YES.

P.S. Can I just say how criminal it is that Ryan Gosling was not nominated for this category? Michelle Williams was nominated for Blue Valentine but there is no way in hell she would have pulled off that performance without Ryan. The movie was all about both of them. Grr.

Would be lovely if Geoffrey won (don't count him out just yet - he got the BAFTA) but I think Christian Bale will win. And I'm totally down with that.

Duh. Natalie will win. But I WANT Annette to steal it from right under her pregnant little self. How brilliant would that be? Can you imagine Natalie's face? In her cutsey mumsy little girl dress? (She has not been dressing herself well throughout this pregnancy, ugh).
